Privacy policy

Your privacy matters.

How I collect, use and look after your personal information when you visit this website or work with me.

Last updated: 8 November 2026

1. Who I am

This website is run by Andy Firth, a sole trader providing online coaching, based in West Yorkshire, UK. I'm the "data controller" for the personal information described here. If you have any questions, email me at andy@andyfirth.co.uk.

2. What I collect

  • Forms on this site: your name, email address and anything you choose to tell me, such as what's going on for you or your preferred call times.
  • Bookings: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and the date, time and type of session.
  • Payments: payments are made by bank transfer, so I see your name and payment reference on my bank statement. I never collect or store card details.
  • Coaching: notes and agreed actions from our sessions, and anything you send me between sessions.
  • Website visits: basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser, recorded by my hosting provider for security.

3. Sensitive information

During coaching you may choose to tell me about personal matters, such as your health or circumstances. I only use this to support your coaching, I keep it confidential, and I only record it with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. How I use your information

  • To reply to you and arrange an intro call, because you've asked me to (legitimate interests, and steps before a contract).
  • To deliver coaching you've booked, take payment and send session notes (contract).
  • To keep financial records for tax purposes (legal obligation).
  • Sensitive information you share in coaching (explicit consent).

I don't sell your information, I don't send marketing without your permission, and I don't make automated decisions about you.

5. Who I share it with

Only the services I need to run my coaching: my website host (Krystal Hosting, UK), my email provider, the video call service used for sessions, my bank and, if I use one, my accountant. They only use your information to provide their service to me.

Coaching is confidential. The only exceptions are if the law requires me to share information, or if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm. In that case I may need to contact appropriate services, and wherever possible I'll talk to you first.

6. How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to coaching: up to 12 months.
  • Client records and session notes: up to 2 years after our last session, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
  • Financial records: as long as HMRC requires (currently at least 5 years after the 31 January tax return deadline for the relevant year).

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Just email me and I'll respond within one month.

8. Cookies

This website uses essential cookies that it needs to work, for example to keep it secure and to remember your cookie choice. With your consent, it also uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. Analytics only runs if you click Accept on the cookie banner, IP addresses are anonymised, and you can change your choice at any time using the Manage Consent tab. I don't use advertising cookies. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.

9. Keeping it secure

The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting access to me alone.

10. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please contact me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
